Every note is a nested list. Collapse a branch to skim the shape of a topic, expand it to get the detail back. Headings, code and LaTeX all live inside the outline rather than beside it.

Notewell keeps your coursework in a plain outline you can actually revise from. Edits save locally first and reconcile when you reconnect — no spinner, no lost paragraph five minutes before a deadline.
Offline-first sync
The editor writes to local storage on every keystroke and opens a single long-lived sync stream to reconcile in the background. Close the laptop mid-sentence; it picks up where it left off.
Review queue
Mark any line as a prompt and it enters a spaced-repetition queue. No separate flashcard app to keep in step with your notes — the notes are the deck.
Plain files underneath
Notes are Markdown with a small amount of front matter. Export the whole workspace as a folder at any time, or point Notewell at a folder you already have.
Status
Notewell is a personal project in open beta. Sync is stable for single-device use and multi-device is behind a flag while conflict resolution settles. Bug reports are welcome through the address in the docs.
